Hi there, I’m Amanda.
owner of Regal Doodles
Thank you for stopping by to learn more about Regal Doodles! Being a Goldendoodle breeder is my passion not just because of the dogs but also because of the relationships I form with my clients. After you read about me I’d love for you to fill out an application and tell me about yourself!
Early Life
My love of animals started at a very young age. Every summer, I would go to stay with my grandfather, who was an animal lover and bird breeder. I would spend hour after hour sitting quietly in the aviary alone observing the birds while my grandfather was at work. Once he came home I would sit and learn at his knee about breeding and caring for these delicate animals. Little did I know how this would be the foundation of my passion for doodles.
As a child my room was filled with tanks and cages and the many sounds of a menagerie of animals. We got our first puppy, Rascal, when I was 4 years old. Dog training must just be in my DNA. I never attended a training class with him but I easily understood the way he thought and how to teach him what I wanted. Every day I would watch an episode of Lassie. At the end I would pick some trick or behavior Lassie had performed and I would teach Rascal to do it. By the time I was 6, Rascal probably knew 30 commands!
While I loved all of the animals I owned, dogs were always my favorites because of their loyalty and love for their humans. After I graduated from high school, I got involved in breeding and showing Wire Fox Terriers and Border Collies. During my college years I taught dog obedience classes until I graduated. It was at this point that my life started down a new path when I married my high school sweetheart and started my career teaching elementary school.
Babies Change Everything
With the birth of my first child in 2007, I started to realize that my prized show dogs were just not the perfect family companions I always thought they would be. As cliché as it seems, a baby really does change everything. At one point I didn’t mind a little dog hair around the house, but after picking up my crawling baby and seeing dog hair stuck to his little hands, I was determined not to have a shedding dog ever again. The final straw was when one of my terriers started a dog fight right next to my child. As much as I loved my terriers, having dogs that are safe around my kids is non negotiable.
A Doodle Breeder is Born
My best friend Alicia was in the exact same situation. We started to talk about what our new breed of dog would be. We both agreed that of all the dogs we had trained over the years, the best dogs were the Goldendoodles. They were mostly non-shedding, easy going, sweet, loyal, and so wonderful with children. Alicia and I decided to start Safari Doodles. It was a challenge to find dogs that met our strict code of breeding standards, but after a few years we had a really successful breeding program.
After some time I had my third child and had to take a break from breeding. Once my life calmed down a little and I was ready to start breeding again, I decided to start my own program called Regal Doodles. Alicia and I are still friends and most of the stud dogs I use are from Safari Doodles.

Being a goldendoodle breeder is such a rewarding and fun job, second only to my job as a stay at home mom. More than anything, I love the relationships I make with my clients. I look forward to speaking with you and making you a part of my Regal family.
