I created this blog almost a year ago and I planned on writing at least once a month… I failed. Why did I fail? Because my attention has been on something else dear to my heart. In July of 2018, in collaboration with Alicia of Safari Doodles, we created a new FaceBook group called Texas Doodle Education. There are millions of Doodle Facebook groups out there but many of them spread misinformation. We had a vision for creating a group that was centered around answering questions for doodle owners and also being an advocate for responsible breeding. Our group has been a great success and as of now, we have 6,122 members.
What makes Texas Doodle Education different?
To begin with, every moderator in the group is a pet professional. We have breeders, trainers, groomers, and other dog service professionals that have stepped up to moderate the group, answer questions, and write content for our members. What else makes us different? Every breeder that enters our group must live up the highest standards. We started the group initially with about 14 breeders. In the last 2 years, 68 breeders in Texas have applied to join. Of those, only 2 met the criteria. For this reason, it is important to make sure the breeder you are buying from is responsible and ethical!

Inside TDE we have utilized FaceBook’s learning units to create a treasure trove of information for you that is added frequently. The units are organized into:

How do you get in?
Request to join TDE and you will be asked a few simple questions. The one thing that people almost always miss (and end up getting denied) is you MUST check that you have agreed to the group’s rules. Also, if you are a breeder you must let us know and you will be asked to prove that you meet the group’s criteria. Without a doubt, if you join the group without telling us you are a breeder, we will find out and you will be permanently blocked.
